I typically use my phone and log times into the apple notes app or for longer studies I will use Evernote. I used to use the stopwatch but would often forget to stop the timer, so I’ve changed to the countdown timer starting with an estimated target and then adjusting. I also tend to do activities on the hour, for example, my alarm goes off at 8am so I know when I head out the door at 8:15am it’s easy to calculate.
