This is a better case example of why Twitter and Facebook are the online equivalent of Anthrax. Social Media is the biggest source of this bad behavior. It’s not gendered, either; studies show males are harassed at roughly the same rates (they receive less cyberstalking and sexual harassment, but higher levels of harassment in every other category, especially threats).

There are people who are constantly going to blame everything but the actual problem (Outrage Culture and Social Media) for this shit.

Listen, I hate to be “that user,” but we need to understand that if you post something publicly on a public space (and Social Media is), you are not given any specific protections just because you attached your own face to it. We keep seeing people do this for a bit, which is to say nothing of the people actively provoking their own harassment (there’s not many, but there are a few doing it).
