This scenario assumes patient compliance is 100%, I presume? Do you penalize the bottom line of the hospital or physician group if a patient fails to follow-up at the GI appointment for pre-procedure colonoscopy? Do you fault the pediatrician and their clinic’s thin operating margin because a subset of hesitant parents are unable to differentiate amongst the levels of evidence this making decisions contradictory to guidelines?
