Yoko’s Plate…

My wife is the most amazing Japanese chef. The food that I get to eat everyday is ridiculous. We had a little catering thing going on before the kids, but that is way too much work for not enough reward.

So, we are thinking these other ideas:

a. Karage and yaki onigiri and tsukemono and beer mini-restaurant. Japanese ginger fried chicken, a bbq crispy rice ball with some sweet pickles and an ice cold beer. That is what I am talking about.

That is all that is on the menu. Keep it super simple. And there are literally thousands of Japanese girls who are on working holidays in Victoria, BC who would love to help.

b. Macrobiotics consulting. If your insides have problems, go to this diet immediately. It is how the Japanese live to be 105.

c. Cooking summer camps for kids. We are passionate about educating the youth on good food that is delicious. Health is the first wealth. That is an easy sell to every parent that I know.

d. Products: Shio Koji (salt marinade — oh my, so good on EVERYTHING), Ama Zake (non-sugar, sweet rice drink), and a killer steak sauce that can make an awful piece of meat zing.

I have a 4 year old and a 3 month old baby, so these ideas are not going to happen any time soon, but I just love the thought of them.
