The Definitely Not Right 2016 NFL Mock Draft

- LA Rams- Jared Goff, QB, California… If moving to Los Angeles wasn’t enough of a splash already, trading up for the #1 overall pick certainly was. But its the most important position in sports. If you believe in the kid, roll the dice. It’s worth the risk.

- Philadephia Eagles- Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State… Once the Rams made their move to #1, the heat was turned up on everyone who wanted one of the top 2 QBs. The Browns decided Wentz wasn’t worth it, but Philly put all their chips in on this one.

- San Diego Chargers- Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame… Ramsey would make a ton of sense here, and Deforest Buckner has gotten a lot of recent hype. Heck, Laremy Tunsil is supposed to be the better OT. So why Tunsil? Because the insiders I trust say so, and SD has a bad poker face. This pick has a chance of changing the next five picks.

- Dallas Cowboys- Jalen Ramsey, S, Florida State… Cowboys run to the stage, filling a position of need and getting possibly the safest pick in the draft. When a guy is being compared to Charles Woodson, you take him.

- Jacksonville Jaguars- Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State… Jags have done a great job of not showing their hand, which is similar to when they drafted Bortles 2 years ago. Myles Jack could be the pick here, but the knee injury is scaring teams. Bosa is arguably the top player in the draft.

- Baltimore Ravens- Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss… Because of course the Ravens get the best lineman in the class.

- San Francisco 49ers- Deforest Buckner, DL, Oregon… Best available player and one that the Niners apparently crave. Could go as high as #3, maybe they swap with San Diego to get up there?

- Miami Dolphins- Zeke Elliot, RB, Ohio State… TRADE!!! The Browns are going to continue to be the talk of the draft with their #Moneyball approach. Sashi Brown is committed to Analytics, and I believe he will continue to add draft picks… Side note, Eagles swap with Dolphins, Eagles swap with Browns, Browns swap with Dolphins, and Miami ends up where they started, with less picks and higher paid players.

- Tampa Bay Bucaneers- Leonard Floyd, OLB, Georgia… Tampa Bay really likes having a strong pass rush, and Floyd has been one of the top risers in this draft. Could go Heargraves or Jack.

- New York Giants- Myles Jack, LB, UCLA… Maybe the best pick in the draft. Giants need a LB, so they draft one of the elite talents of the draft. Jack’s injury is a major risk, but the Giants are a perfect team to chance it.

- Chicago Bears- Jarran Reed, DL, Alabama… This draft is very deep at defensive tackle, and Reed is near the top of the list. A great conolation prize after not trading up for Floyd or Zeke Elliot.

- New Orleans Saints- Vernon Heargraves, CB, Florida… Saints are going defense here. Could be a defensive lineman, but Heargraves is a great pick.

- Cleveland Browns- Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss… After two trade downs, the Browns get the top WR at a more appropriate price. Add in a few extra picks tomorrow night, and this is a great pick for Cleveland.

- Oakland Raiders- Sheldon Rankins, DL, Louisville… Improving the DLine is one of the few needs that the Raiders have this draft. Could go corner, but Rankins is a great pass rusher from the inside.

- Tennessee Titans- Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State… What a great tradedown for the Titans. Rumors that they would need to trade back up to get Conklin, but with all the DL action, Conklin slips to them. I don’t see the Titans doing anything else in round 1 but improve Mariota’s protection.

- Detroit Lions- Darron Lee, LB, Ohio State… Detroit probably wishes one of Rankins or Reed will be here, but Lee could be the best available player, and they need help in the front 7.

- Minnesota Vikings- Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State… TRADE!!! After the Falcons missed out on Darron Lee, they trade down hoping to get a Safety later. While many think the Vikings need to go WR, they’ve been linked to the OL, and have shown in the past their willingness to move around.

- Indianapolis Colts- Ryan Kelly, C, Alabama… Some picks just make plenty of sense. Rule One: Protect Luck. Rule 2: Repeat.

- Buffalo Bills- Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson… My Clemson Tiger Insider has been reporting this to me for weeks. Rex is a Clemson guy, and Lawson is an awesome value here.

- New York Jets- Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama… Jets have been very quiet, not revealing anything about their pick. Last year they went with a great defender who they didn’t expect to be available. How about again?

- Kansas City Chiefs- Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor… TRADE!!! No buzz around this, but with Kelly and the top DL gone, Washington finds a trade partner. Chiefs would love to grab a burner to stretch the offense, and jump ahead of Houston to start the WR run.

- Houston Texans- Will Fuller, WR, Notre Dame… This pick has been reported for months. Fuller has all the speed in the world, and with this Defense, they need to provide Brock Osweiler more weapons.

- Atlanta Falcons- Keanu Neal, DB, Florida… After trading down, the Falcons grab the DB that Dan Quinn has wanted the entire time. Neal gives them a presence in the secondary he needs to start making an elite Defense.

- Cincinnati Bengals- Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State… Could easily be Doctson here, but aparently the Bengals have very high grades for Thomas.

- Pittsburgh Steelers- Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State… This pick makes too much sense. They’ve been in denial about needing to draft a Corner, but with their love of OSU defenders, this makes a lot of sense.

- Seattle Seahawks- Germain Ifedi, OL, Texas A&M… This could be traded, as the Seahawks often trade out of round 1, especially with teams wanting to move up for QB. But Ifedi is a “Seattle type Lineman”.

- Cleveland Browns- Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis… TRADE!!!! Hoping I’m wrong, but the more Lynch slips, the more the Browns will want to move up and grab him. If he is Hue’s guy, then I guess I’m on board. If Packers stay, they take Vernon Butler or A’shawn.

- Washington Redskins- Karl Joseph, S, West Virginia… Skins trade down and get the Safety they really loved the whole time.

- Arizona Cardinals- Robert Nkemdiche, DL, Ole Miss… Defintely a risk, but Bruce Arians tends to do that. Could be a great steal, or a big flop.

- Carolina Panthers- William Jackson, CB, Houston… Not sure if they would panic and take Corner just because Norman is gone, but Jackson could be considered best available player here. Doctson and Dodd also could make sense.

- Denver Broncos- A’shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama… WHat a great value to close out the First round. Robinson could go as high as 11, now, he’s possibly the steal of the draft.

Best Available for Round 2: LB Jaylon Smith, OLB Noah Spence, DE Kevin Dodd, WR Josh Doctson, DL Vernon Butler, DE Emmanuel Ogbah, DL Andrew Billings, CB Kendall Fuller, OT Jason Spriggs.
