Jim Gray from Showtime discovered that the Baltimore native had become a symbol of the sport of boxing.

Davis’ success in the pay-per-view event demonstrated his potential to draw in a large audience, which will likely result in more lucrative opportunities for the 28-year-old in the future.

Davis secured a successful victory against the previously undefeated Garcia at the 136-pound catchweight class, and is anticipated to return to lightweight — a weight class that could be considered the most gifted in boxing — where he will have a great deal of renowned choices for his next PPV fight.

Who is Gervonta Davis’s next opponent?

A number of lightweight fights have been organized to provide some clarity for Davis on the numerous questions he has.

The upcoming May 20 fight between Devin Haney, who holds all four belts in the lightweight division, and two-time Olympic gold medalist Vasiliy Lomachenko has been long-awaited and is sure to be exciting. This is sure to draw in viewers.

Vasyl Lomachenko, aged 35, is renowned worldwide as one of the best amateur boxers ever and he enjoyed a reign of supremacy in the lightweight class for two years beginning in 2018.

In 2020, Teofimo Lopez won a unanimous decision over the fighter, and the next year, he was upset by Australia’s George Kambosos Jr. Kambosos, however, went on to be defeated in consecutive unanimous-decision matches to Haney, who many consider to be one of boxing’s highest-rated pound-for-pound fighters.
