How To Overcome Rejection

Let’s face it, rejection is part of our lives and has been engrained in us from early childhood. You know what I mean…maybe you were picked last for the dodgeball team or heck not picked at all. Maybe you weren’t tall enough to ride that awesome ride at Disneyworld or maybe you were rejected by a “cool” group of kids in school.

Whatever that experience was for you (and trust me when I say it started even earlier) these rejections carried on through your youth and into adulthood and undoubtedly still affect you today.

They appear in many aspects of our lives from work to relationships to marriage to friends and ultimately to ourselves.

These moments often make us feel “less than” or “unworthy” a “failure” or that you’ve done something wrong when in reality you just weren’t tall enough at that time in your life to ride the ride.

These feelings stick with us and become part of who we are. And instead of learning from them, or growing from them we let them sink in and takes us down a path or low self esteem and low self worth.

In reality you are worthy just the way you are. You are good enough and if we take those rejections and turn then into learning opportunities we literally grow. Mentally, spiritually, intellectually and emotionally.

So when you go back to tackle that same situation once again, you’ll have new tools, new skill sets. You would have grown.

And just like when you were a kid you can go back to that ride and this time you just might achieve your goal and get on that ride.
