My guess is that, for TunnelBear, the Irish VPN is tiny in comparison to the American one. I would think that most people are using TunnelBear to tunnel into the US for media (and maybe the UK). I tried these tests at 4.00pm Brisbane time, which is the middle of the night in the US.

I’ve not tried downloading something from a server in Australia… because I want to understand what the deal is with the US/EU traffic. I’d guess Australia is blazingly fast. Perhaps I should test with an Amazon S3 in Sydney.
