You’re not using Android — you’re using a bastardised version of Android, screwed about by HTC. And that’s the issue, really — pure Android (on a Nexus branded device, or some Motorola phones) is a really nice experience, and I can’t go back to iOS, it drives me crazy. But having a bowdlerised version from an Asian manufacturer is a poor first experience of Android, to be honest.

Tip: don’t look for iOS apps on Android — they’re often poor and complicated copies of the iOS experience, rather than made with Android in mind. Instead, try and find the native Android version. It’ll take time, though.
