A 6-foot-5, 236-pound four-star recruit, Cameron Latu has committed to the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. Ranked 149th among the nation’s prospects and the eighth best defensive end, Latu was courted by such universities as Brigham Young (BYU), Utah, Nebraska, and Washington. He had originally committed to BYU but changed his mind after visiting Alabama three times this year.
Latu hails from Olympus High School in Salt Lake City, where he recorded 65 tackles and nine sacks during his junior year. Offering versatility, he has also played as a tight end and as a slot receiver for Olympus. The ninth player to sign for the Crimson Tide, Latu signed just a day after Louisiana recruit Slade Bolden.
