Typetool

When traveling over to San Francisco one of the main goals I had in my head was to develop my skills in type design and to create one of my first typefaces. So after I had finished my exchange in San Francisco State University (SFSU) I went looking for an internship in the typographic field. But I struggled to find on as I had decide to look in the more craft field of typography i.e. screen printing and letterpress. After looking for awhile I had descried to apply to more type foundry, I got talking to Rod Cavazos the founder of Psy/Ops a type foundry in the centre of San Francisco’s Market street through one of my lectures in SFSU.

This is where I got first introduced into the software typetool a type editing program. It is a strip down version of the more powerful fontlab but it is still a great learning tool having had. It has been a great experience getting into type design it has made me more focused on becoming a designer. I will be showing you my development soon.
