Death & Rebirth Of Your Identity: The Process of Evolution
*** Beginning Rungs of the Ladder
Here’s a simple question you can ask yourself to reveal the limitations of your current perceived identity, which is precisely what you must let go of to advance to your next level.
Whatever goes in the blank below reflects the limitations of your perceived identity:
“I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goal just don’t ask me to _____ because that’s just not me.”
E.g. in Shrek:
I will do whatever it takes to win the love of the princess just don’t ask me to open myself up to the princess because that’s just not me.
The limitation of Shrek’s current identity is: I don’t need anybody; it’s not me with the problem, it’s the world.
E.g. in The Titanic (Rose):
I will do whatever it takes for freedom and adventure just don’t ask me to give up my millionaire husband because that’s just not me.
The limitation of Rose’s current identity is: My mother and I can’t survive without a wealthy man to support us.
E.g. A Younger James Melouney
I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goals just don’t ask me to risk embarrassing myself in front of others or risk looking stupid because that’s just not me.
The limitation of my previous identity was: I’m smart so I am supposed to know all the answers and therefore I’m allowed to make mistakes. (How do you think that empowered me? 😂😂)
Indigo, often we form our identity based on past-and-societal condition and to protect ourselves from a deep wound from the past.
This identity “protects” us but it also imprisons us.
It has got you to where you are today, but it won’t won’t take you to where you want to go next.
Death & Rebirth of your identity is the process of your evolution.
Until the final stage where your identity (ego) dissolves completely and you live in the true essence of who you are.
Until next time.
