Want to Change the World? React with Love

*** Beginning Rungs of the Ladder

Dear Indigo,

Once there lived a nomadic tribe in the remotest areas of Africa.

In that tribe, if someone was caught stealing or inflicting harm on others or their property, the tribe would form a circle around the “wrong-doer”.

Then, starting with the Chief, each tribe member would share something positive about the person.

Sometimes they would share something positive about the wrong-doer’s character, skills, or talents.

Other times they would simply remind the wrong-doer of positive and caring behavior they had shown in the past.

How do you think the wrong-doer responded?

How would you would respond?

The reason people do “bad” things is because they’re either (1) ignorant of what their actions truly mean and/or (2) they’re hurting on the inside (and often aren’t consciously aware of it).

Reacting with anger or hatred only adds fuel to the fire.

Reacting with love and compassion is how you move forward.

If you want to change the world, start reacting with Love.

Until next time.

Your friend,
James Melouney
