The first week of my altMBA journey has proved the experience will be as transformative as I expected, if not more. Sharing my professional goals with complete (and brilliant) strangers with the very real intention of receiving their generous feedback is humbling. Everyone who has chosen to participate in the program is self-motivated however the accountability we will place on each other takes the necessity of shipping to a new level. The peer to peer learning environment is the polar opposite of the traditional schooling I dreaded attending. The program did not seek me ought, I sought it. No one needed to “sell” me, I knew it was for me and others whose goal is to make a difference. Sitting in front of a pontificating professor for 50 minutes is not the catalyst for change.
