Raw Chocolate Mousse Recipe

The following recipe is vegan, raw, Paleo friendly, dairy free, refined sugar free and can be adjusted to be IQS friendly.
Raw Chocolate Mousse Recipe
Don’t be put off by the avocado in the above picture, it isn’t a mistake. I promise you won’t even taste it in the recipe. It is there to mimic the texture of dark chocolate mousse. This has got to be one of the healthiest and quickest desserts out there that is even appropriate for breakfast! Yep that’s right, chocolate mousse for breakfast!
Avocados are full of monounsaturated fats which assist in glowing skin, weight loss and help keep you fuller for longer. Raw cacao powder has more antioxidants thank green tea which protects the body from ageing and disease caused by free radicals.
Give this a try for dessert tonight or breakfast tomorrow morning.
This recipe makes enough for two large serves or 3–4 smaller serves.
Ingredients
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1/2 cup raw cacao powder
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup/honey/rice malt syrup/coconut sugar/nectar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Pinch of sea salt/himalayan/celtic sea salt
- Optional 1–2 tablespoons of plant based milk of choice to help blend.
Method
- Add all ingredients into a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
- Taste the mousse, if it’s not sweet enough add some more sweetener.
- Serve up an enjoy immediately or let it rest in the fridge.
- Try some healthy toppings such as fresh fruit, spices, superfoods or clean granola.
- Store left overs in an air tight container or jar in the fridge.
