WHICH CHARITY SHOULD I SUPPORT to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey?

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is working with over 60 nationally recognized charities that are active in disaster relief. About 75% of these charities are faith-based and are on the ground right now in the Gulf Coast, providing food, water, clothing, shelter, and spiritual care for those whose lives have been turned upside down.

The servant-leaders standing with me in this photo represent just some of these effective charities: Salvation Army, Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, Samaritan’s Purse, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Operation Blessing, Convoy of Hope, and Feed the Children.

There are other fine charities working in this crisis, too. For a link to all of the charities that DHS works with, go to the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD) website.
