Lots of pain, lots of fear — people are crying, people are dying. Choose love.

It was tough to watch the 09/11 memorial services — from all across the country. Those who lost family members or friends, current police officers and fire fighters remembering their fallen brothers and sisters — their words are painful to hear, their faces are difficult to see; even now, all these years later.

Now we have our own current sets of images to remind us that this world and this country are not at that place of peace yet. It seems like there is not much that we can do to help, or to change things. There is a feeling of near hopelessness. The problems are so immense that it seems nothing can change the ultimate outcomes. But we have to try; we have to do something, give something, change something. We have to reach out in whatever ways we can. Volunteer, donate, get involved, make a difference. Choose life, choose love.

“All your life, you will be faced with a choice. You can choose love or hate. I choose love.” Johnny Cash
