Prince’s Protege — he produced her debut album, Back In Time.

Judith Hill was one of the back-up singers featured in 20 Feet From Stardom. She won a Grammy for her vocals on the sound track of the film. She was a back-up singer for Michael Jackson, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban, and Prince — among others. She has performed duets with Groban and toured with John Legend.

Judith Hill is featured prominently on Prince’s album Hit N Run.

Prince produced Judith Hill’s debut album Back in Time, which established her as a solo artist. Many people are mentioning how generous and giving he was — to younger, less established artists.

I know that, like the rest of the world today, Judith Hill is in shock and in mourning. We are thinking of her, and of other artists that Prince mentored and promoted. Their world, our world changed forever because of Prince; our world will never be the same again.
