A Visit to Cuba During Trumpian Times
Josh Karliner

The banner of your article is misleading. As a five-time visitor to Cuba, and author of two small books of poetic vignettes and photography, I expected to learn something contemporary, something since the time of Trump’s siege on America. On the day of “his” announcement and insulting speech to the Cuban people, I received a urgent phone call from my dear little Havana family, who I always return to, wanting to know, needing to know that I will still return. You tepidly refer to the impact on the little people all the way down in paragraph 13. If using the T-word and Cuba in the same headline, the article should have some political and psychological insights, not just a repeat of the same old, same old travel log, that has been published before.
