Coburg in Germany: a Great town for X-mass, Samba festival, and everything in between

Coburg was one of the first three cities I traveled to when I arrived in Germany for the first time.

After living here for more than three years I started to get used to breathtaking German architecture. This is just human nature, I guess. After a while, we do not appreciate nice things around us if we look at them long enough.

If you have never been to Bayren and have plans to visit, I recommend including Coberg in your travel itinerary.

You will be overwhelmed by the city’s architectural splendor and historical diversity.

The gingerbread-spiced honey biscuits are also said to have been appreciated by Queen Victoria.

Sitting down in a street café, relaxing and admiring the statues and gable decorations, “Coburg oriels” and half-timbered houses, rococo, gothic and renaissance façades is one of the best things you can do there.

I ordered an espresso with a “Schmätzchen”, a gingerbread specialty registered as a trademark as early as 1904, and had the best time.
