Hi Desi,

There’s an undercurrent string that I’d like to pull at from within your wonderful question. One needs to assume that there’s something wrong with the state of rest to beat oneself up about it, or not ideal vs. rest being a natural state that one must go through in order to be “at our best.” I would flip the question to you:

How do you give yourself permission to not rest fully, and be less than your best? If work, focus, and rejuvenation are each essential stages of growth, how can one justify expecting great results after repeatedly skipping a part? In my experience we can’t hack natural systems, as hard as we may try. The best we can do is work within them. The worst we can do is ignore them.

Hope this helps. These days, I do believe that resting has become a rare skill. xx
