Shelley, what you’re doing is hard and magical. You’re shutting out the external pressure and noise to blow money on pleasures that will not lead to your eventual happiness and fulfillment. You’re walking the walk to financially realize the personal financial balance you need to strike in order for you to achieve other bigger, longer term hopes and dreams that you may have in your heart, like travel or retirement, or just avoidance of waste. Your family members may not be enlightened enough to recognize this.

But they will. Or they won’t. And you’ll become a more content person, just as you are, at peace with what you want. Amazing!
