California Needs An Urban Transportation Agenda

Excellent read. I’m a transplanted New Yorker in Los Angeles and it took me a while to not be so appalled at the lack of reliable public transportation. When I learned that LA used to have one of the best railroad infrastructures in the country before auto and gas industries got involved, I was so angry! Now here we are decades later trying to reverse the damage especially as folks like me are leaving the east coast and heading west. And the Bay Area in comparison seems like it can boast well connected transit system but apparently not as you outlined. However I can support this movement towards better public transit, more bikes and shared cars, I’m with it.
