Sunday Story 9: Technology and Police Brutality

The invention of new and more advanced technologies such as smart phones, iPad, the wifi system, and etc have helped us tremendously to stay in touch and informed about what is happening around us. It especially helps those of us who are too lazy to grab a newspaper and sit down and read. The Internet and the easy access to it has helped us stayed in formed about things such as police brutality. We read and hear about it all the time in the Internet and with that we pass on whatever information we learned or heard to someone else. This way we stay informed and keep everyone else informed as well.

Not only that but with the ability to record and upload. videos on social platforms, people can easily record any police brutality that happens to innocent people on the street. They can then post the video online where everyone will be able to watch and take action against it. This may prevent or lower the rate of police brutality and other crimes similar to this. This will make it harder for the crime and injustice to go unnoticed. People will hopefully be given justice for whatever happened to them. The public will feel less afraid to speak up when they. have real evidence.

Also since everyone has some sort of a smartphone in their pocket, it will make the police think twice before taking any action because words may lie but hardcore evidence such as video footage won’t let them get away with the injustice they may do. Technologies may help to bring the rate of these sort of crimes committed by those who are supposed to protect us down if not stop police brutality and other crimes altogether.
