Don’t Push Away Tasks for Later

I’m here writing my Medium post at 22:25. Whoops. I’m usually asleep by now.

The bad thing is, I knew I needed to get it done. Throughout the day I’ve been reminding myself to get a post written. It isn’t until now that I’m doing it.

Why am I doing it now? Well, I find it incredibility easy to push tasks for later and squirrel them away for an hour, day, or week later. It’s easier to do this than actually complete the task. It’s a habit of mine.

I’m sure you feel the same way about your tasks.

I could’ve written a really great post earlier. Sure, at the time this morning I didn’t feel like it at all, but now I’m tired, and it’s not gonna be my best.

I’m squeezing this post into my life, instead of taking the time to enjoy it.

When you need to get something done, whether it’s crappy, awesome, or just plain average, make sure you get it completed before it gets in the way of your life.

To end, here’s a quote from the book Eat That Frog. I’m yet to read it, but I’ve heard it pretty good. That’s a task to add to the list, eh!

“…you cannot eat every tadpole and frog in the pond, but you can eat the biggest and ugliest one, and that will be enough, at least for the time being.”

I’m writing about something that interests me every day for a year. This is day 62 of 365. ✌️
