It’s Exciting When People Start Using Your Product for the First Time

After starting more than one SaaS business (OK, three 🙈) I still find it super exciting to get people using our product.

When you’ve released your product into the wild, it’s inevitable to be disheartened when nobody uses it, and they never come back for more. It’s easy to think that no-one will ever use it.

But when people find your product—either from ads, networking, or organic search—sign up for a trial and start customizing and using your product like you intended it’s a fantastic feeling.

After that happens, it feels like maybe you’re doing the right thing, you’re building the product the right way, and that you’ll get some MRR in the bank soon enough.

Once you’ve hit the point of making other people’s businesses better, that’s a massive step. You once had nothing, and now you have something. Something people are willing to spend their time on. Something people actually enjoy using.

I think that’s one of the best feelings about being a startup founder.

I’m writing about something that interests me every day for a year. This is day 14 of 365. ✌️
