Your Health is Worth Time & Money

I’ve not been the best example of a person looking after their health. I was scrawny, fat, and pale.

During my youth I tended to ignore my doctors, eat unhealthily, and sit on my arse for most of the day.

Getting Healthy

Since then things have changed quite dramatically thanks to my partner’s encouragement.

I’ve started to eat the right things for my body by reducing my salt intake and taking fish oil and greens. I tend to walk a little more, and I have an interest in looking after myself.

While I’ll admit I’ve let things slip a little since exercising last year where I got down to 12% bodyfat, I’m getting back on the road to fitness.

Setting Goals

You have to set goals when you get into fitness otherwise you’ll be lost. Knowing what kind of body you want will help you set a sightline.

I’m hoping to get into swimming and back into weightlifting with a goal of reducing my bodyfat down to 10% while maintaining a health weight.

Sometimes You Have to Cough Up 💸

Today I paid for a health club membership.

It wasn’t cheap, but comes with a gym, swimming pool, classes, and outside bootcamp each week. It’s only a 5 minute drive away which is ideal.

I’m thinking about subscribing to a health insurance plan, too. I know it’s free on the NHS in the UK, but maybe it’s worth getting some extra cover in case something bad happens.

Being proactive about your health is something more people should do, and it’s something I need to think more about.

Don’t wait for the problem to arise—tackle it so you’re in the best position possible.

I’m writing about something that interests me every day for a year. This is day 75 of 365. ✌️
