Subway (restaurant* ) — An American fast food franchise that offers delicious freshly made submarine style sandwiches, salads, and beverages.

Subway are known for their customizable sandwich options, store baked cookies, and popular slogan ‘Eat Fresh’. With 37,540 locations in over 100 countries, and holding the title of the largest restaurant operator in the world, it’s certainly no surprise that Subway knows what they are doing to get word out… or do they?

Meet Milad.

Milad is a 21 year old college student from the United States, who began uploading videos from his shift at Subway on the social media platform Tik Tok in 2020.

Milad makes Subway sandwiches during his time at his parents Subway store located in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, USA. He regularly uploads these videos to an ever growing audience with these clips coming out to be roughly a few minutes long.

But he doesn’t just stop there.

Milad frequently engages with his audience and does videos answering questions that they have. He goes beyond the content and engages as much as he can with his audience.

What began as comedic, short videos on Tik Tok quickly lead him to become a viral sensation. Thanks to his personality and particular style of story telling that he voices over clips of him making sandwiches, scores of people kept coming back for more.

As of July 1st 2021, Milad has 4.7 million followers on Tik Tok with 195.5 million likes. Not bad for a 21 year old who just graduated high school. He launched his YouTube channel during September 2020 which grew to 10,000 subscribers by the 13th of March of 2021. Since then, his YouTube channel has also exploded with it hitting 1 million subscribers in the next three weeks, and the views keep piling on. His main YouTube channel sits at 2.14 million subscribers with over a billion views (05.08.21). These figures are only what Subway can dream of achieving.

He’s already out-earned the revenue his parents store makes.

Just for perspective, Tik Tok pays anywhere from $0.2–$0.4 cents per thousand views. Milad’s videos range from 40,000–5 million views or more per video. While YouTube ad revenue can pay $2-$5 per thousand views. His main channel has already passed a billion. So you can imagine the paycheck he must be getting. In the relatively short time Milad has gone online, he has earned enough money to buy his parents Subway store or open one up himself. If that doesn’t highlight the power of the internet, then I don’t know what does.

The Milad factor

Milad has a warm personality, is great at telling stories, and best of all, makes delicious food right in front of your eyes. Just watching his videos will make you want to order in some Subway and enjoy the sandwich while watching even more of his videos. His style of story telling is funny and extremely relatable. He frequently does live videos while at his shift and interacts with his audience regularly. He loves making sandwiches and is showing the world just how awesome it is to work at subway.

Don’t think for a second that any of this comes easy. Oh no. Milad grinds day in and day out while completing shifts to upload videos on a consistent basis. His main YouTube channel has churned over 700 videos so far. In addition to this he runs a second channel where he posts POV style videos from his shift. From making an everything sub, to giving Mr.Beast (another popular YouTuber) 50,000 subway cookies, Milad’s journey of content creation is only just beginning.

So do yourself a favour and get comfortable. Order in your favourite sub and watch and episode or two and learn from the man himself!
