Buildings Too High

In the Bible days, people were building and had great minds and skill. Sometimes they did things that were not pleasing to God.
In Genesis 11:4-9, men built a tower called Babel. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Today I think about what happened to the Twin Towers and how tall they were. Today in the news I read about the Harmon Tower and how it is set to fall. God knows what is in man’s heart. Man likes to build buildings high and sometimes too high. I’m beginning to believe it is not always a good thing. I think it is not a good thing because of what was in man’s heart long ago, and I think it is a reminder to the people. People still worship things and think highly of things they ought not today. For an example, People said the Titanic would never sink but that ship did sink. We have to be careful in our thinking and speaking because we might be lifting a thing or a person too high over God. No one is higher than God and sometimes God will bring us all the way down to the ground to make us see that he is the one and only God. The Bible said that God is a jealous God. Duet. 6:15 (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
