We have set aside 35 tickets because we really believe that it’s important to do our best to make sure we have an even more diverse audience.

JSCamp Barcelona 2019
3 min readJun 9, 2018

This year, we offer again scholarships in the form of diversity tickets (free or reduced price). We don’t cover travel expenses and accommodation expenses. We will focus our efforts on the local community, so we highly encourage students and other diverse applicants to apply for scholarships.

The scholarship is open to people who self-identify as part of any group that’s under-represented in technology.

In the spirit of broadening our community, we want to encourage people from under-represented communities in our field to apply. In particular, we would love to see JSCamp 2018 become more diverse in terms of ethnicity and gender, as well as welcoming individuals who are members of any other under-represented communities. This may include (but is not limited to), people of color, women, transgender folks, and people of diverse sexual orientation, age, and experience level.

We hope this scholarship program can enable you to join us and contribute to our conversation. We believe that a more diverse crowd makes for a better event and community. If you agree, we invite you to become a Diversity Supporter.

Please take time to fill out the application form and tell us why you want to join and how the scholarship would benefit both the event and your work (or studies).

If you know anyone that would benefit from this, please share this with them both on social media, but also any communities you might know that would benefit from.

Diversity Sponsorship is not money for a party, nor for fancy catering, or a nice booth. It is a chance for someone.

This fund will be the sole support of JSCamp’s 2018 Diversity Ticket Program. Your consideration, and contribution to helping our creative community grow and evolve will be recognized.

We’re looking for as well for various organizations to provide access to relevant groups. If your group or organization would like to be included in this program, please contact us.
