Obviously, it would be a wasted exercise to try and debate the finer-points, i.e., the clear false equivalency argument you make — by comparing our system of taxation of income (to support our society), to human bondage (without any pay); replete with torture, rape, and wholesale murder of those enslaved; as well as the related Slave Trading enterprise that went on for centuries, wherein millions perished in capture and transit,…so I won’t even try. Your rather pitiful comparison defeats itself, simply on moral grounds.
Instead, I’ll merely reflect that your brand of Libertarian logic would leave a powerful nation like ours a weakling among the nations of the world, and bereft of even the basic decencies of a modern world. You may prefer a world of total personal freedom, where it’s every human for his or herself, but most thinking Americans would repudiate such an existence as Darwinian and befitting of the animal kingdom, but not humanity. Taxation is not slavery. It is the price we pay for living in a modern, civil society.
