New Innovations: The Future is Looking Bright!

As I read the news and peruse through social media, I’ve seen the coolest new and upcoming technology that are here and coming soon! It is really hard for me to come to grips with all the new toys we are going have at our disposal; making our lives easier, more productive, and downright awesome.

For one, Virtual Reality will change the way we communicate and interact with one another. We can see new worlds and experience different cultures, real and imagined, without actually traveling there. It is going to change the way we consume our entertainment. From movies and video games to live concerts, we will be able immerse ourselves in the worlds we see. Our imagination will come to life before our eyes. Storytelling will be greatly effected and enhanced. Conveying messages will have more impact on your audiences.

Imagine watching Avatar, but you will no longer be watching the action; you would be experience it in full force. You will be in the action; you would become a part of the story. I wouldn’t doubt it if a new industry emerged that is called “Interactive Movies.” I don’t know about the name. Maybe, this is already a thing, but just think about it.

Let’s use Avatar, again. Imagine, let’s say you jump in the pod and link up with your Avatar, and you find yourself walking and seeing this vast new world. The difference in this version is that you can actively effect the story and plot based on your actions and choices; almost like an RPG game, but in movie format. You can see and experience the entire story unfold right before you, and you could watch it again and make different choices; making replayablity nearly endless.

Video games, too, would be a great deal of fun. Sony and Playstation already have this at play. We can even experience new worlds with these virtual worlds of real places on Facebook in the form of 360 degree videos.

Communication would be changed forever. Just like in those sci-fi movies, where you see holograms come up and both individuals can communicate with each other. Think Star Wars. Microsoft already has something called “Holoporation.” Friends can be in your living room and talk and walk around your living room like they are really there! So freaking cool!!

And what about social media? Facebook is already working on some stuff. I have no idea what it is, but imagine browsing Facebook and calling on a friend on Facebook, putting your VR on and you’re in the freaking room talking with them!

VR, no doubt, is going to change how many things are. And for Augmented Reality, well, that is going to be even cooler, in my opinion. And no, they VR and AR are not the same thing. Augmented Reality is like enhancing your current reality, the real world. Think about the movie “Minority Report,” and it is going to change how manipulate our digital enviroment.

Imagine you come home from a long day, you walk through the door and digital notifications of your emails, voicemails, social media, and maybe the status of your home (Smart home stuff) appears on a wall near your door. Imagine that you can swipe left or right with your hands to clear a notification and use your hands to select them to read it, play it, or whatever. Let’s say your done with all that. You walk into the living room to sit on the couch to relax for a bit. When you do, a holographic panel comes up for you to control your entertainment system and, again, you can use your hands to manipulate the information right in front of you. That would be so great… Can’t wait for that…

Even video games would be different… You can destroy your living room when virtual robots invade your house… Man, that sounds so awesome to me. Again, I think Microsoft has something in the making for this area as well.

Another thing I am super stoked for, sexy, afforable electric cars… We will be finally making real commercial progress on cleaning the pollution of our home after decades and decades of burning fossil fuels. Thanks, Elon Musk, you are my hero… and future thanks on getting us to Mars! The Model 3 is going to make some serious change on the streets… I mean look at the reservations on it!!! (Nearly 300k!!!!) Congrats to Tesla! They may run into a few production problems, though. Nothing they can’t figure out!

There is so much change coming our way… And I am excited for all it! All this new tech will bring new opportunities to solve some of the world’s greatest problems. New opportunities, new industries, new companies.

As the rest of the news looks bleak and depressing, the tech sector has a lot of positive things to show for. From Virtual Reality to Augmented Reality and from sexy, affordable electric cars to reusable rockets, methods of communication, entertainment, and travel are going to change before our very eyes; making human interaction and getting places more interesting.

But there is a frightening innovation at hand, it can enhance our living and improve humanity or be the ultimate device of our own destruction… Artificial Intelligence… It sounds great and would the change the dynamics of economic, social, technological, and global systems… We will have to see what that holds for us… It’s alright, I think Elon Musk will save us, if things go sideways. (What can I say, that guy is brilliant.)

Let’s see what next few years has in store for us…
