I think there are considerable differences between the Democratic and Republican parties, yes.

Appreciate your response. Still, I can’t help but wonder, how do your neighbors in Ames and mine in central Virginia determine that there are differences and then choose between them? They’ve been stuck in an economy that — under both Democrats and Republicans — hasn’t offered them a real raise since 1980. For all intents and purposes, they’ve been left out of the greatest wealth bonanza in human history, and they know it — they feel it every day in their pocket books and see it every time they check their bank balance(s). And it’s about to happen again; only this time, there isn’t the grace of Barack Obama, George W. Bush’s folksiness, or Bill Clinton’s incredible ability to connect to warm people over. There’s just Trump, and his robber baron instincts.

Perhaps this neoliberal “Disaster Capitalism” is about to bite off more than it can chew? If it does, we need a ready-made alternative.
