Prototyping and Turning Our Ideas Into Reality

This week was more of the same — Anthony and I spent the majority of it brainstorming and creating cards with effects and stats. These cards include: Equipment for both players, spells, shop and loot items, monster summons and encounters, enchantments, and curses. There are always more cards to be added, but at this point in time our prototype is finally ready for testing. That way it can be balanced and we can get meaningful feedback from our peers on how mechanics interact with each other, in the effort of making the game more fun!

A Small Sampling of the Cards in our Prototype

Beyond that, I also started typing up a rules sheet so that our playtesters know how to interact with each other. In the final product, a lot of the rules players would encounter will be handled automatically by our electronic components, so this rules page is just a rough draft and will have to be updated in the future. But that’s a story for another time.
