I could’t agree more, we recently hired a number of designers for junior roles, and the majority of CVs were in those styles. It was difficult to not completely gloss over them,

I can see why young or new designers choose this style as they can be quite aesthetically pleasing when executed well, but as you stated it doesn’t convy any meaning.. For me it highlights that you’re willing to put form above function, how it looks over how it performs.. Which for a junior role in a technology company is a big no no
