An apology to My Sisters

I’d planned on writing a lengthy comment regarding your article, but after reading the victim’s letter, I’m emotionally numb. I guess I’m most amazed that indifference to violation can spawn a “rape culture.” There is NO justification for what happened to this woman on any level.

For the assailant’s father to comment about his son being sentenced for “twenty minutes of action” is appalling. Great family values!

The assailant’s life is ruined because because his swimming career is over, and he’s now a registered sex offender? He should of thought of that before he took action. His minimal sentence is a mockery of both the victim and the justice system. It’s nothing compared to the victim’s loss.

More to come.
