If you’re comfortable doing it, switch your grip for part of each set. I’d recommend switching for any less technical or up tempo songs. You’ll be surprised how much of a difference it makes. Also stay hydrated. It will decrease the possibility of muscle cramps.
The area where I live is economically depressed, so the live music venues have all but vanished. I teach privately, and in the process of starting a blog in January on jazz.
