The William Barton Rogers Society 2015/2016 Annual Report

Jean-Jacques Degroof is a self-employed venture investor and a business school instructor who works in several different countries. One of Jean-Jacques Degroof’s enduring philanthropic partnerships is with the William Barton Rogers Society of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The William Barton Rogers Society, a philanthropic arm of MIT, funds a range of programs to provide educational and hands-on training opportunities for MIT students. Its latest annual report described the efforts of more than 4,700 supporters including 2,372 undergraduate alumni and 1,654 graduate alumni, as well as 160 MIT students and 190 MIT parents.
The 2015/2016 Annual Report of the William Barton Rogers Society goes on to detail specific initiatives, such as the need-based MIT scholarship fund and the MIT Sandbox Innovation fund, a program that connects students across the Institute with financial backing and mentoring to develop creative solutions to important problems. In the 2015/2016 financial year, the William Barton Rogers Society supported projects that range from cancer research and the study of human aging to various efforts to reverse climate change and develop new sustainable energy options.
