The End of Empathy

I sometimes feel as you do, but I wonder if this observation also stems from everyone having an equal voice now. Jerk or Gentleman, everyone can be heard online. And on some level, you can’t avoid it like you could in person. The jerks acting without filter and the gentlemen (and women) perhaps reserving comment for understandable reasons (struggles with empathy, timing, choosing their words and sincerity carefully). I suppose the internet is the loud speaker and amplifier, and short of the people acting as trolls because of the anonymity, people are being who they are.
While I disagree that empathy is dead (I believe that we’re seeing it become a valued skill), I enjoyed reading your thoughtful article. Thank you for sharing!
