Gun Violence Prevention Movement Must Take the Issue by the Horns

I literally “sat in” with my two Congressmen in RI after they returned from their infamous Sit-In on the floor. Like yourself, both have worked on this issue for years. In this case they were simply asking for a vote (even if it failed), and suggesting the most common sense (and most widely accepted) regulations. And even that was too much to ask from this Congress.

I too would like to see assault weapons banned completely, and I think we will get there eventually. But even the small steps that have been suggested would be big victories. Progress on social isduues is more often attained through small changes, rather than big ones.

You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m a pragmatic idealist. And I’m not the only one.
