The Hottest Team In Baseball! #RESM560v

For a kid born and raised just south of Kansas City, I grew up watching the Royals and every year it was the same old losing season. However, things are have taken a drastic turn of events. The Kansas City Royals have made the post season for the first time in 29 years!! What’s more impressive? They have just swept the ‘best team in baseball’, the Los Angeles Angels and have serious momentum heading into the American League Championship Series (ALCS) against the Baltimore Orioles.

Being a 24 year-old avid sports fan, waiting my whole life to see the Royals have this kind of success is an amazing feeling. Especially with the roller coaster ride of a series like this one was. Defeating the Angels, in Los Angeles, in back-to-back extra inning games (3–2 in 12) and (4–1 in 11) set the tone for amazing finish in Kansas City last night capping the sweep 8–3.

Led by the active bats of Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas (pictured above) along with Alex Gordon, the outstanding defense by Lorenzo Cain, and a clutch bullpen the Royals are clicking on all cylinders becoming the hottest team in baseball.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia, “The Royals played terrific baseball and they deserve to go on. We tip our caps to them.”

The Royals are set to face the Baltimore Orioles in an exciting 7 game series starting Friday with the first two games being played in Baltimore. The Orioles are also playing well after sweeping the Detroit Tigers over the weekend. The Royals have gained nationwide attention and #iBelieve Blue October will continue.
