The Hottest Team In The NFL! #RESM560V
Arguably the hottest team in the NFL right now is the Kansas City Chiefs after holding off the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Seattle Seahawks, yesterday at Arrowhead. Andy Reid’s Chiefs have now won 7 of their last 8 games. RB Jamaal Charles led the way rushing for 159 yards and 2 scores on 20 carries while the Chiefs defense held off “Beast Mode” Marshawn Lynch and “DANGERuss” Russell Wilson. Although Kansas City lost the turnover battle at minus 2, they held on to win 24–20 improving their record to 7–3!

“We talked about it all week,” QB Alex Smith said. “The two things we talked about [were being] physical and [playing] four quarters. It was going to be a four-quarter game, and we knew that. You never know how they’re going to come [or] who’s going to get called upon.”
Things are now starting to heat up in the AFC, more specifically the AFC West, where the Chiefs are now tied at 7–3 with the Super Bowl runner-ups, the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have the tie breaker because they defeated Kansas City in week 2, 24–17 in Denver. The Chiefs will host the Broncos in two weeks for Sunday night football. Assuming the two teams will be 8–3, this game will be a fun one to watch!
Historically and statistically, being 7–3 at this point in the season means an 84 percent chance of making the playoffs. Currently, The New England Patriots (8–2) and Denver Broncos (7–3) sit atop the AFC standings followed by the Cincinnati Bengals (6–3–1) and Indianapolis Colts (6–4). The Chiefs are no. 5 exiting week 11. The top two teams will receive a bye putting wild card games at Chiefs-Colts and Bengals-Dolphins. As the Chiefs push forward with this last leg of the season, the AFC West is up for grabs as KC looks to win the division and recieve that first round bye.
This has been an exciting Fall as Kansas City native! First the Royals shocking the country and taking the Giants all the way to game 7 of the 2014 World Series and now the Kansas City Chiefs are begining to make a similar push into the NFL playoffs. Time will tell but the Chiefs are firing on all cylinders and heading to Oakland to play the 0–10 Raiders on Thursday night will be a must win for this thriving team to go far into the playoffs and potentially Super Bowl XLIX.
