Gavina Leslie is the owner of the Little Apple Café and Bakeshop on Morrison Road in downtown Longview, Alberta. She makes the best raspberry and white chocolate scones, this side of Montreal. Gavina hasn’t managed this location for very long — only a month or so. I used to drop by here every time I drove through Longview — it had a different name then.

Gavina has lots of other baked goodies and things for sale: paintings by a local artist, leather purses, etc.

The “Little Apple” is in some strange way related to New York (i.e. The Big Apple) but I’m not sure why. There are a bunch of places in Longview with references to New York. There is a mobile trailer park called Little New York Estates. There is a restaurant called Bistro Little New York.

Customers come from far and wide to drink coffee, have a snack and “chew the fat”.

Here is a photo of delectable caramelized plum pastries. Gavina bakes pastries fresh every day.
