My baby brother just graduated from high school and has been talking to me for the past couple years about what major to choose, what jobs will be available, whether he should eventually pursue a masters, and what school will set him up best for his future. He turns 18 in a month. 17 year olds can be so smart (and also so stupid in other ways). It is a disservice to say that they shouldn’t be able to make those kinds of decisions for themselves.
