Do you really think learning to cook food from other cultures is close to cultural appropriation?

This week’s dinner menu is appropriating both Indian and Mexican cultures. I do not tell my Italian in-laws the ways I have altered their traditional recipes, and I think the Irish would be just weirded out when I have swapped potatoes for tofu. And I formally apologize to the Thai, Japanese, and Chinese nations for lumping them and their food traditions together into one pan for “Asian” dinner nights.
