We are having friends over tonight for a grilling and a fire. I need to stop at Target for bug spray and those candles that don’t actually keep the bugs away ($40). Then I’ll swing by Whole Foods for tofu-dogs, veggie-burgers, buns, potatoes, and vegan marshmallows ($60).

On Saturday the spouse is going to our niece’s birthday party. Unfortunately it’s four hours away and Polly and petting zoos do not mix. I need to add a card and wrapping paper to my Target list ($10). She’s turning three, and my spouse and I are tying to do what we can from afar despite and to spite her parents; we got her “I Object” about RBG and a Wonder Woman t-shirt. I’m sure there will be gas, car snacks, and beer purchased ($50). There will be a protest march in my area on Saturday that I’m planning to attend ($0, I have plenty of poster materials at home). Sunday will be the usual grocery store trip ($150) and chores around the house.
