Good Eats in Hawaii Part VI

May 28, 2017

I’m not a huge a brunch person in San Francisco, but in Hawaii that kind of changes. The Halekulani Hotel has a restaurant called Orchids that has a superb Sunday brunch buffet. The week before, I overheard my waiter say Ayesha Curry was here with her girlfriends. She most likely was there because she just opened a new venture at Michael Mina’s The Street. More about this later.

Sashimi and a lot of different cold seafood salads.

Ice cream and fresh baked cookies. You can make a ice cream cookie sandwich if it so pleases you.

Desserts and fruits.

Carving station included roast pig, prime rib and I think turkey.

Salalds and cold pasta section. There was another middle table with hot food, but unfortunately it was hard take photos. There was portuguese sausage, fish, chicken and some other breakfast items like pancakes I recall. Also an omelette station.

The brunch is pricey, but if you’re on vacation, I say treat yourself.

Reservations is required for brunch and the dress code is “Resort Casual — tank tops, beachwear, exercise attire or flip-flops are not permitted.” If you want to try it, ask about the price. It may have changed. Make the reservations at least a month in advanced.
