Skin, Sand and Seas

Skin: Genetics, the phenotypical manifestation of your progenitors onto the largest organ of your body.

Source of identification, profiling, social determination, geographical origination.

Protective barrier, protecting the soft inside from the otherness of the outside.

Filtrating membrane, facilitating the equilibrium flux of life’s matter in the continuum of the inner you and the outside of you.

You, look at me, at my skin and you see stories, some are mine, some are yours, many aren’t true yet some are just right, just alright for now…

Sand: Earth, Terra Mater, Womb, Place of Growth, Nurturing Source. The place through which you entered the world.

The crucible that holds you before you’re ready to fly out.

The earth that populates your gut — the earth that gives you the foundation to digest the world around you and assimilate your way through life.

The Mater that instructs your response mechanisms to deal with life’s matters.

The place where you grow, grow to know, grow to learn to understand. The nurturing source in you, in the world you create and in the worlds you inhabit and cohabit…

Sea: The power and transport, the driver of flux, the promoter of steadiness.

The waves that spin you like clay on a potter’s wheel and the ones that hold you in their surf.

The oceans that take you on travels into immensity, into the unknown, into the greatness of life, into the vastness of space.

The moving faces, the passing of time, the change of pace, the strokes recorded on your sand grown skin.

The weathering of the skin follicles — to the point of new identity.

The amassing of golden grains of sand — to the growth of the heart’s womb.

Skin,

Sand and

Sea — all of me…
