…I text you more than your friends and family.

.…My texts can sometimes get a little long. (Don’t worry — I still love your one-word replies because hearing from you is always great!)

And some of you even start to get concerned when you don’t hear from me. As President Obama would say, “I miss you back!”

And a lot of you have been wondering who I am.

That’s why I thought it was finally time for me to formally introduce myself, and tell you why I’ve been texting you so much.

Hi, I’m Jess Morales Rocketto.

When I was about nine years old, I told my mom that I wanted to be the second woman president. She asked me why not the first.

“Hillary Clinton is going to be the first woman president,” I said. “But I’ll probably work for her.”

So, yup, that came true.

I’m the Online Organizing Director at Hillary for America. As my mom likes to say, “If you can dream, you can do it!” As Online Organizing Director, my job is to coordinate all of our volunteer and supporter activity online, making sure that everyone who engages with Hillary online has what they need.

I truly believe (and have seen first-hand!) that volunteers are the backbone of organizing — they are the reason our campaign exists. The internet is great because it lets us talk to lots of volunteers at once — and has brought underrepresented communities — like the Mexican American community I grew up just outside of Los Angles — to the forefront.

I also believe change is made from the ground up — that’s why I am so dedicated to organizing and, well, texting you! It’s important because the more people who are committed to vote for Hillary, the more likely we are to win. It’s just that simple. Which is why we have to talk with every single undecided voter about why Hillary is the right choice for president.

And the best person to make the case for Hillary is you. That’s why it’s so important to connect with your friends, family, and other Hillary supporters online.

Want an example? In 2014, I was calling voters and got someone on the line who was undecided. She thought her polling place was closed, so I looked it up — she had 15 minutes to get there! So I mapped out the directions for her and stayed on the line as she navigated to her polling place. I’m pretty sure if we hadn’t talked she would have sat the election out — but because of our conversation, she cast her ballot.

Talking to voters matters. Now is not the time to get complacent. If we do that, we hand our country over to Donald Trump. We need you more than ever to volunteer — and it isn’t hard. And if you want to get texts from me and Hillary, sign up here.
