I’m going to speak directly the your hyperlink regarding statist attics that definitely show that black people are disproportionately targeted. First, the first stat isn’t even a comparison! It just tell you that two black suspects are killed a day. No mention of the fact that at least some of those deaths are more than likely real instances of police self-defense in the face of dangerous criminals. Already the article has lost credibility due to bias in favor of the opinion you are proposing. And the biggest issue is not the bias. The biggest issue is that, the second I call you out for faulty statistics, I’ll be called out as a opponent to the cause, as another stupid white person who doesn’t believe that this country has a race problem. I know for a fact this country has a race problem. But I also know that this country elected a black president, and that the social ladder, though steep, isn’t unclimbable. And I know that at the heart of this issue is severe socioeconomic inequality that drives people, both black and white, towards lives of crimes, and the downstream affect that regular, persistent crime in certain areas can have on the cops who police those areas. So yes, black lives clearly matter. I find it repulsive that it’s even up for debate at this point. But violence damn sure isn’t the answer.
